Day 1 of my 3-Day “internship” unlike others in the program I went with two different people. My first day I went with Bouba to his office and had a small tour and learned about some of the work he’s currently doing.

The ASP is like a force/authority that works to prevent violence from occurring. For example, one of Bouba’s current projects is trying to establish a successful university police department in Senegal because today there are a lot of cases of rape that happen within universities. If the UPD in Senegal is successful the ASP hopes it can be put in place throughout Africa like no university has a UPD system. Bouba and the ASP have been doing lots of research to help learn the best way to put this in place and so we also spent some time answering questions (while I attempted to once again be a translator) about our UPD systems in the USA.
