Isla Mujeres – My Ride

Well … I have one thing to say, if Isla Mujeres didn’t make me an expert bike rider nothing ever will. There were tons of bumps – something I’ve come to realize is popular in many areas around Cancun to avoid speeding/accidents. The island is also full of hills, most of the time if I didn’t feel like I was going to fast downhill I felt like I was fighting for my life to go uphill. I rode around the entire island in a little over 2 hours making several stops along the way, almost got hit by a car once, came CRASHING down once and by some miracle have no scrapes and just a bruise and torn book bag to show for it. Of course the crash with the ground didn’t come until there were less than 10 minutes left of my ride. It was one of those moments where you wish someone recorded your face because I knew it was coming and could do nothing but brace myself for the impact 🤷🏼‍♀️.
